We would like to inform the publicity about the implementation of the project realization
financed by European Union in the frames of Cross-border Cooperation Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2007-2013
The project has started on January 1st, 2013
The project will be realized on the territory of Lviv oblast (Ukraine) and Podkarpackie voivodship (Poland) during 2013 and 2014 and was initialed by Mountains Guides Association “ROVIN”

Project partners are:

  • Lviv Oblast Control-Rescue Service of the Ukrainian Tourist and Sport Union
  • Polish Tourist Association of Country Lovers, Department named after M. Orlowich in Przemysl, (Polskie Towarzystwo Turystyczno-Krajoznawcze Oddzial im Dr M. Orlowicza)
  • Association “Lviv Tourist Board”
  •  Bieszczadzka Mountains Voluntary Rescue Group (Górskie Ochotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe Grupa Bieszczadzka)

The main project goal is stimulation of the tourism development in the Carpathian region and performing of urgent measures on providing the safety staying of travelers in mountains on Lviv oblast and Podkarpackie voivodship cross-boarder territories. The building of cooperation between all the interested parts: guides, rescuers, authorities, publicity, and business. Project will be completed in 24 months.

During the project implementation the following tasks will be realized:

  • The information campaign on the project will be conducted, the problems which to be decided and methods applying during the project realization will be opened;
  • The Training Centre for the mountains guides and rescuers of search and rescue service in the village of Dovge, Lviv oblast will be equipped;

  • 2 trainings (25 people per course) during 10 days (80 training hours) for the workers of Search-Rescue Points and mountains guides will be realized;
  • 2 trainings on rising the level of professional skill, 5 days per training course, for 25 trained mountains guides and rescuers on the base of functioning Mountains Search-Rescue Points (Sanok, Poland) will be conducted;

  • Two Public Search-Rescue Points (in Scole rayon and Drohobych rayon, Lviv oblast) will be equipped and will operate;
  • 2 training camps, 5 days per course, for 30 practicing and new-trained mountains guides and rescuers (from Poland and Ukraine) will be conducted;
  • 10 tourist-information signs along the tourist routs with information about functioning Public Search-Rescue Points servicing the territory and contacts of rescuers will be placed:
  • 2 conferences (35 participators per one) on the discussion of the problems regarding the tourist safety in the Carpathians (one conference in Poland and one in Ukraine) will be conducted:

  • 2 seminars (30 people per one) on the experience exchange on public search-rescue points creation and operation (to apply the experience on the Ukrainian territory in other oblasts (regions) will be conducted;

  • Printing materials (brochures, leaflets and guide-books for tourists) on the tourist potential of the Carpathian region and cross-boarder tourist routs containing the information on the tourist infrastructure in the regions where the new-created Public Search-Rescue Points are located will be published. The matters of tourist safety and preserving of the environment will be emphasized in the publishing materials (total edition 10000 copies).
