Mountains Guides Courses

A training course for mountain guides.
Mountains Guides Association "Rovin" realizes the training course for mountain guides. Students have the opportunity to listen to the theoretical (lectures) part and take the practical training course (hiking). After passing the exam the graduates receive a certificate of Mountains Guides Courses and badge, which further enables them to submit documents in accreditation commission at Oblast State Administration for official permission to conduct tour escort.
According to the approved Mountains Guides Training Program includes:

Full-time course
Theory - 80 hours, including 64 hours of and 16 hours of practice.
Number of Days: 20 days (4 hours per day).
Period:  16-25 November and 14-23 December
Venue: 10/2, Kryvonosa street, Lviv.,
Timetable: Classes are held from 16:00 to 20:00 .
Topics of lectures and workshops includes: History and Organization of Mountain Tourism in the Eastern Carpathians, Geography of Carpathian Tourism, Selected Historical Questions, Society, Nature, Mountain Guide - Main Principles, Safety in Mountains, Terrain Orientation, Psychology and Sociology of Tourist Group

Practice - 80 hours,.
Number of Days: 10 days (8 hours per day).
Period:  12-21 April
Venue:  Training Centre for Mountains Guides  “ROVIN”
Lesi Ukrainky street, 35, Dovge village, Drohobych rayon, Lviv oblast 82195
Timetable: Full-time classes.
Participants of the course will be provided with handout materials (maps, practical manuals, photocopies, specific travel equipment (shoelaces, carabiners, harness, etc.) and accommodation (hostel standard), three meals and insurance at the time of training and practical training in the mountains). iframe
The internships for participants of Mountains Guides Trainings will be held at the base of Polish Tourist Association of Country Lovers, Department named after M. Orlowich in Przemysl and Bieszczadzka Mountains Voluntary Rescue Group in Sanok Poland. Training will include familiarization with the guides activity in the Republic of Poland, Bieszczady practical hiking and exploring the existing tourist infrastructure (marking of tourist routes, mountain rescue service activities, etc.).
